EXIT

		I lean on a pedestal
		just built,
		pondering
		the solemnity
		of past enthronements.
		Must this marble, also,
		be deserted?
		A pearl can,
		with a word,
		renounce her station.
		She has no right,
		and I no room
		for haunted
		oyster shells.
