I wouldn't mind cooking
for large appetites
or washing the windows and floors.
I'd take my turn gladly
at car-pooling kids
and do all the laundering chores

I'd entertain nicely
with crystal and linen
and see that report cards are signed.
I'll sew all the curtains
and housebreak the dog
while teaching the children to mind.

I'd bake my own bread
every Saturday morning
then work in the garden till three.
I'd do all this and more
if somebody else
would just do my thinking for me.
