FASTING - 2020

During Lent
we fasted.
Fasted from meat,
fasted from wine,
chocolate, the pleasures
of life.  We tried to focus
our minds, our hearts,
empty our hands.

Now-
after the Resurrection
we are still fasting.
This time from the real food
that gives life.
This time not by choice.
And our hands 
are truly empty.
